Much of our research examines beliefs – including scientific, religious, and political beliefs – and the factors that facilitate or impede belief change.
Our lab often takes a meta-scientific approach, using psychological methods to study the beliefs and practices of psychological scientists.
Some of our research examines individual differences – such as an openness to new ideas and a willingness to change one’s mind – that may influence how people change their beliefs.
Some of our work explores the possibility that different researchers may hold different scientific values (e.g., prioritizing societal impact vs. knowledge for knowledge’s sake), and those values may influence the way they do research.
We are interested in conducting more participatory research, where we collaborate with members of the community to conduct research that will serve their needs and interests.
